CEF Angel For a Day

The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) has begun hosting the event known as Angel for a Day in various schools throughout the Diocese of Joliet.   Our most recent event was held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at SACRED HEART SCHOOL and ST. PIUS X SCHOOL, LOMBARD.

The purpose of this simulated school Open House is to enable donors and donor prospects to witness students-in-action in a school setting.

Attendees can participate in a variety of ways... from helping students in a classroom setting to being entertained by the students' musical or theatrical talent.

Through this experience, our CEF donors quickly recognize the return on their investment in Catholic education.

The event culminates with a luncheon for our donors and potential benefactors who hear the personal witness of a selected student.

The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) distributes more than 1,600 need-based scholarships each year. Eligible families with students K-12 are encouraged to apply for financial assistance to help cover the cost of tuition. These tuition assistance grants are determined on an annual basis and families must apply each year in order to be considered.  In 2016-17, the CEF distributed $2,002,600 to 1,682 students in our Catholic elementary and high schools.
