Our Mission

The Catholic Education Foundation of the Diocese of Joliet accomplishes an important mission in our Diocese by raising resources to allow children in need to attend elementary and secondary Catholic schools throughout the Diocese of Joliet.

The CEF is a separately-incorporated entity that benefits the Diocese of Joliet - in- Illinois. The Catholic Education Foundation Federal ID (EIN) number is 36-4088859.

The Open Book is a symbol of Bible and represents the Father. 
The Blessed Sacrament represents Jesus Christ's presence in our schools.  It represents the Son. 
The Dove is a symbol of peace that represents the Holy Spirit. 
The Logo in its entirety represents the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit.




The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) distributes more than 1,600 need-based scholarships each year. Eligible families with students K-12 are encouraged to apply for financial assistance to help cover the cost of tuition. These tuition assistance grants are determined on an annual basis and families must apply each year in order to be considered.  In 2017-18, the CEF distributed $2,130,297to 1,648 students in our Catholic elementary and high schools.
